Nearly 50 per cent of the third sector’s income in Wales comes directly from the public. Many voluntary and community organisations in Wales are dependent on a few donors or funders and if or when these sources end, the organisation will need to fill the funding gap or cut back to reduce costs. Broadening the fundraising mix can reduce this dependency on too few sources of income, especially dependency on short-term grants.
